We’ve heard it many times, I’ve even said it before myself: “The world don’t owe you nothing.” But what if we were wrong? It’s utilized to motivate others or as a form of tough love to push people to take control of their lives, to go after their dreams, to work hard and be persistent and to take no prisoners. The world doesn’t owe you, you have to take, or go get, what’s yours.
But what if we were wrong? What if the world does in fact owe you! Not in the “I’m going to get mine, by all means necessary” kind of way. But in the “allow the Lord to avenge you” way. The word says in Romans 12: 19 “Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, “says the Lord.” Therefore what if every pain, every heart ache, every test and trial was ammunition and an “I Owe You” for a better life. God promised us beauty for ashes (Isaiah 61:3). Which means everything we went through is not in vain, but rather it will be used for His glory (Isaiah 48:10). The only condition is we must stop hiding.
Stop allowing the world to shame us into a life of mediocrity.
Stop allowing others to guilt us into carrying their secret to protect their selfish motives or reputations.
Stop allowing others to diminish our light to make them feel comfortable.
Stop hiding our talents in a life of misery.
Stop hiding our pain to protect the conscience of those who watched and chose not to interfere.
Stop hiding our greatness amongst those with no vision.
Your repayment is dependent upon your willingness to come out of hiding! Your transparency will provide a window for which others can break free. When I decided to write my story of molestation, low self-esteem, anger and bitterness, it was not to point fingers or assign blame but rather to obtain freedom to finally live and show others that forgiveness, deliverance, and abundance was possible just like God promised. Beauty for ashes and turning it around for our good is only possible if we give it over to God, heal and allow Him to order our steps to use it in the earth.
